Until the end of the 19th century, Vallvidrera was an independent town, until in 1890 it became part of the neighbouring town of Sant Vicenç de Sarria, which, in turn, was annexed to Barcelona in 1921. Situated on one of the sides of the Collserola hills, Vallvidrera is considered to be the lungs of Barcelona due to its abundant forests. Surrounded by green and silence, nature is king here. This wealthy neighbourhood has excellent views of the whole of Barcelona. From some specific places and on a clear day it is even possible to see Mallorca and the Pyrenees on the horizon.
