CAFÉ MOSKAU Vintage Wood Coat Rack
CAFÉ MOSKAU Vintage Wood Coat Rack from the BERLIN Collection.
Handcrafting process: The small artisan company "LumberPrint" handcrafts in their workshop in Essen, Germany, our fine art photography with direct printing on solid genuine antique wood from old buildings across Europe. We turn this upcycled wood with our photo art into exclusive wood oat racks thanks to the handcrafted hooks from the Retro series.
Wood history: on the back, there is a label with information about the origin of the wood. So you will know from which building in Europe your “piece” of vintage wood comes, what it has experienced and how old it is!
CAFÉ MOSKAU on Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin was one of the seven national restaurants in the capital of the GDR. Planned by the architects Josef Kaiser and Horst Bauer, it opened in 1964. A copy of Sputnik was installed on the roof before the opening in its original size - a present from the then Ambassador of the USSR. The name of Russia's capital on its roof - MOSKAU (in German) and МОСКВА (in Russian) - was created by the graphic designer Klaus Wittkugel. The photograph was exhibited during 13 personal photographic exhibitions "Berlin — the City of Change" within the framework of the Year of Germany in Russia. Documentary photography of Berlin.
