Cuvry-Graffiti by Blu Berlin Vintage Wood Coat Rack

Cuvry-Graffiti by Blu Vintage Wood Coat Rack from the BERLIN Collection.

Handcrafting process: The small artisan company "LumberPrint" handcrafts in their workshop in Essen, Germany, our fine art photography with direct printing on solid genuine antique wood from old buildings across Europe. We turn this upcycled wood with our photo art into exclusive wood oat racks thanks to the handcrafted hooks from the Retro series.

Wood history: on the back, there is a label with information about the origin of the wood. So you will know from which building in Europe your “piece” of vintage wood comes, what it has experienced and how old it is!

This world-famous graffiti image by Blu depicted the headless torso of a man wearing a gold watch on each of his wrists. The watches were handcuffed and connected with a gold chain. With his hands tied, the man straightened his tie. Blu is the stage name of an Italian street artist who hides his identity. The two Cuvry graffitis were created in the years 2007/2008 and extended over the firewalls (windowless side-outer walls) of two blocks, which adjoin the so-called Cuvry-Brache. The village of tents and huts on the Cuvry-Brache had regularly made headlines as "Berlin's first slum" until it was cleared in September 2014 after a fire. The Cuvry graffiti in Berlin-Kreuzberg were among the most famous graffiti in Berlin. In December 2014, the graffitis were overpainted with black paint. Blu initiated it less in protest against the intended development of the site by a new investor, but rather as a sign against the urban development policy and the way Berlin dealt with art. The Goethe-Institut Madrid calls Blu one of the world's most important and critical street artists of muralism. The photograph was exhibited during 13 personal photographic exhibitions "Berlin — the City of Change" within the framework of the Year of Germany in Russia. Documentary photography of Berlin.
